This piece tells the story of eye makeup and adornment throughout history. From ancient Egypt, where men styled their lashes to scare off evil spirits by recreating the image of the Sun God Ra, to the 1800’s where women wore “homemade” cosmetics created from lamp ash mixed with berry juice, all the way through modern times.

I had lots of fun envisioning creative transitions tying different periods together creating a seamless and cohesive historical piece.
